This is the first time, I read a main character get a cold and fight. I’ve read about poison, curse, and battle injuries, but a cold. How the fuck did he catch a cold? I thought everything was x777! Whatever… an plot hole is an plot hole, unless the x777 don’t apply to immunity or other health skills.

He got the right idea but wrong detail. Once he get novelization the editor will help you with that.
100 guards equal a company is a medium size guard force, the right amount for that. Should have lowered that down to 20-40.
To overcome 100 professional guards in the employ of government, They would need 1000 amateurs (villagers) or 400 well equipped bandits, which is a huge number. Mobilization of that amount is not simple and should raise the suspicion of local government or merchants first.
yea it’s common to add to many troops since most people have todays population in mind rather then the medieval amount and it’s a HUGE difference in how many people are around and what counts as a fearsome force.
Actually, that many bandits (or more) isn’t untoward. Furthermore, you’re thinking our world statistics, there, and likely overcompensating for plague-time events (Black Death), or mistakenly considering low average life span to mean few people, when it just means that far more people died when very young (childbirth) and lack of proper medical care for disease. Imagine a fireball raining down upon them, or even worse, a lightning bolt bouncing from metal-armoured soldier to metal-armoured soldier, to boot; even if it’s not a massive fireball or lightning strike like he can use, it’d still be devestating. 100 common soldiers isn’t much at all.

FFS author he could have easily sat on the freaking carriage without moving and cast Fire, ice, and lightning spells with his massive Magic power and fought off any bandits. Stop making him fight everything with sword. Heck even made it sound like he forgot he could cast spells 2 chapters ago….. Double spell attacks easy defense.
