Is it just me that’s being rubbed the wrong way by that empress, sure she is competent but I feel her greed and ambitions is going to affect the poor kid….. Can’t she just be content…. I hope her trying to profit off Falma doesn’t get him the bad end of the stick…. And didn’t the lad save her life…..
There is no greed or ambition from the queen that you’re talking about. She merely protecting her country and she only assign bodyguards to protect them. Beside that, she is the queen and the ruler so what kind of ruler/leader that doesnt think their people or national interest (in this case its Falma). She wants to prevent other countries taking Falma from them. No Falma means no health regulation or citizen riot.
Lol, yeah she doesn’t have greed? Nah… She was chosen for that position not inherited… Its impossible for her not to have those….. Remember it was her who expanded the empire….. She’s a mass of ambition….. Her first instinct is profit…. I just want for Falma to be left to his own devices…. Her first intention after being healed was for Falma to challenge her…. But she is competent that’s why she changed her mind after believing more that Falma has some relation (possession) with the divine…..
So all I can see is Falma being the empress lapdog…. Falma the go to guy, poor kid…. Heck he even died of overwork once
I thought the same thing for a minute but I think it will be fine.
A good ruler has to be a little greedy as they need to always try to get the best circumstances for their territory and people so her trying to exploit Falma to some extent is natural but she is not being heavy-handed or manipulative.
If she tried to do something like profiting off of medicine export to another country Falma would likely object as his goal is to elevate the general health and medical knowledge of the world, not just 1 country so the Empress would likely way the benefits of profit against insulting “the thing that possesses him” and as we can see she has already understood the loss insulting him would bring.
Yah, but at this rate wouldn’t Falma become the Go-to-Guy…..
Well I forgot to include this but I also believe that part about avoiding being heavy handed….. But didn’t they want to bestow him a title…. The son of duke a title…. What could that be Earl or Duke, perhaps a high post inside the imperial office…. Lol all those would bother Falma…. Few Pros, Serious Cons…. Since Falma has always been laid back what would happen if he got dragged into a malicious scheme…. That’s why poor Falma… Though like I said props to the Empress for being competent…. Dammit if only Falma wasn’t easily carried by the flow….

Since I can’t see the reply button for the one where you spoke about title… Well, in those times, all people know what to do is give wealth, land and titles… So, with her trying to give him a title was her trying to signal that he’s that important a persona to her and the Empire… Even though most of us know what that brings along, she’s the Empress that most of the times listens to the subjects and just says Yay/Nay on the petitions(or whatever) comes her way… She has a handful of dutiful people around her and will probably try to sent someone Falma’s way if she notices that he is being troubled by the title. Just that… When people get sent somewhere, they don’t always have the same heart in mind as the one who sends them
Well duh, only those with huge power are allowed to be the leader and Falma fits the criteria. All the things you said arent what a leader should be. And no, Falma “cant”be left alone. He is the type of the person that can change the world and any bad things can happen to him or his allies. Besides, whats with your hate with the queen? I dont see her harming Falma or anything except trying to give a reward (but he still to young)
