Sally muttered while landing down.
Maple fell to her side.

The damage she receives was doubled because of【Cover Move】/
This is only the second time Sally saw an opponent that was able to get through Maple’s armored defense.
「It powered up…?!」
Sally used【Heal】on Maple and followed the giant squid with her eyes.
It was also a chance to attack because it would get near them.
「I’ll dodge… and slash!」
Sally pumped herself up, but the squid’s target was Maple.
「【Super Acceleration】!」
Sally targeted the squid that targeted Maple.
She swung her dagger while she received speed reduction.
「【Triple Slash】!」
Sally passed through under while releasing six consecutive attacks.
「【Poison Lance】」
Maple’s poisonous lance stabs into the squid’s head.

What Sally meant by the fishes earlier were the fishes that they saw schools of when they fought against the squid.
Sally read it, and found out that there was really【Decrease 10 AGI】ability included with those water.
It is a skill that Maple has no use of, but Sally would be able to increase the range of strategies she could take with it.
「Ah〜… is【Hydra】no good?」
「Well, I think that that’s not water-type」
「I guessed so」
Although they tried to be sure, Maple was unable to learn it.
Maple decided to leave it aside for now and put the scroll into her inventory.
The two girls laid around after closing the treasure box.
They are very tired after the long fight and the ruins exploration on the fifth day.
The fifth day started with meeting Kanade.
The two girls really felt that today was a day full of happenings.
「It might be okay taking it slow for one day」

The two girls decided to sleep while thinking that it might be possible to take some leisure time if they have enough medals.
It was a good place to sleep as well.

The peaceful sea that enveloped the two girls was the most comfortable bed that they had up until now.

So i’m assuming it was supposed to be a raid for a lot of people to do but they did it with 2… or it was the thing the devs said was an impossible thing… can’t really remember previous chapters too well
They didn’t get the other 2 pets so it either a different boss or the same boss just different stage

Taking 40% of Maple’s HP in one hit… Won’t other players be instant killed? Oh wait, if I remembered correctly Maple has low HP. So maybe not instant death for players with high HP and DEF.
Since she had “X 2 dmg” correction applied to her it should be 20% but it would still one hit kill other players since it was an attack that passed through her “highest in game” Def
…VIT stat which is the only stat Maple have is basically the hp and def stat. There is no one with a higher def or hp (and regen) than her. So it is really a 1hit ko for anyone else other than Maple (in the same situation using cover move which said doubles dmg, so it’s really just 20%, but in any case, Maple is most likely 20~30x tougher than normal players lol)

Just want to correct you on one thing. In this novel, for whatever reason, the author made it so that the VIT stat is not linked to HP, and only counts as defense. Hence why Maple panicked/complained at the update after the end of the first event, where defense piercing attacks were introduced for almost all weapon classes, since she now had to worry increasing her HP instead of everything into her VIT stat. (silly, i know.)
If you want the specifics they’re in chapter 18 and 19. (the latter half of chapter 18 talks about how she needs to increase her HP now, and 19 talks about her investment with skills and equipment that increase HP.)

Maybe the developer changed the prize, or it was a different dungeon
This battle was really simplified in the anime which really undermines the kind of skill and grit these girls have
She should give the Ancient Sea skill to Kanade. Since Kanade’s weapon is a staff he our obviously a mage and therefore it only makes since he would have water magic. And if not he can just buy it.
I wonder if it would be possible to backtrack to the other shrine and check the Sea King? After all, they just killed it, it should be gone. Right?
