Picked this up in the request of Sam White-sama. Here‘s the illustrations for volume 1 of the light novel.
There would probably difference things compared to the previous translations. First one is, I will use -kun/-sama in their names. For example, Ellen-san calls the mc as Falma-kun in the original novel. It can be said that Falma-kun is her master or some sort, but she doesn’t call him like that in normal conversations(I think). Also, I probably would literally translate from the original language.
I might search the thesaurus for fancy words sometimes, but it’s a light novel where the language of the different world is conveniently translated to Falma’s ears as modern, I mean, the language he uses in his past life. It’s set in a medieval Europe or an era similar to that, so fancy words are coming out, young people would talk like old people but I’m not sure if I need or want to search the thesaurus every time a fancy word comes out.
Honestly, my vocabulary is limited and I’d probably just make things worse if I’d use words that I don’t usually use. Well, the novel has a lot of medicinal terms which is not used in daily life that I would probably need to research, so just like that, I’ll just translate the words written in the raws as literally. It would have romaji and also, I’ll probably change “” to 「」and change the paragraph spaces to make it easier to read.
I don’t know if I’d put additional info about the (medicinal) things that would come out. The story’s written that you can grasp most of the situation without needing to know about those after all. And also, it’s very easy to just search for it on the internet.
I’ll release the next chapter as soon as I finish translating it.
